Executive Director and Endowed Chair of the James Pedas Communication Center
Thiel College, (www.thiel.edu) located in Greenville, Pa, is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director and Endowed Chair of the James Pedas Communication Center. The Pedas Center is an open, interactive, technology-rich creative space for students and faculty from all disciplines. With a ten (10) month appointment and reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Executive Director and Endowed Chair will lead Thiel College in refining and implementing a College-wide vision for the James Pedas Communication Center on campus and in the community. The Executive Director and Endowed Chair will be expected to advance the programs within the Department of Media, Communication and Public Relations, engage in outreach activities on and off campus, and teach (3-4 courses annually) in areas of expertise. The ideal candidate will have:
a minimum of a Master's degree in a Media or Communication field (Ph.D. or terminal degree preferred).
professional, scholarly and/or teaching expertise in the areas of social media, mass media and communication theory or comparable experience and/or expertise in other academic
experience teaching and advising/mentoring in a higher education setting or in a professional setting involving the development of new talent or early-career professionals.
