THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vice President, Business Development & Investor Relations at Watts Capital will be responsible for developing and maintaining investor and distribution relationships for each of our three investment strategies:
Tactical Income and Tactical Growth (Systematic liquid strategies)
Radius Capital Partners (growth capital PE fund focused on network-enabled opportunities in the telecom, media, tech and space industries)
Perseus Property Trust (tax-advantaged real estate fund focused on renovated multifamily housing in US metro markets with growing, non-cyclical employment bases)
Relationship Building. You will actively get to know and build relationships with our clients and prospects, including speaking with them on the phone, meeting with them, fielding inquiries from them and providing regular follow-up.
Conferences and Roadshows. For conferences, trips, and roadshows planned by senior staff, you will coordinate schedules, manage logistics, schedule appointments, attend appointments as appropriate, and follow up. Moderate travel required for conference attendance and roadshows.
Sales. Appropriately licensed individuals may participate in the sale of investment products and be compensated for their sales role. Successful candidates may be sponsored for licenses.
Email Marketing. You will help establish and maintain our email marketing databases and manage delivery and follow up from our scheduled periodic mailings. You will develop lists for specialized email campaigns, carry them out, and measure effectiveness.
Social Media. You will develop our social media strategy, formulate our on-line personnas, and manage and maintain social media sites for our brands. As appropriate, you will conceive, manage and measure the effectiveness of specific social media campaigns.
Direct Product Development. Watts Capital aims to continually meet investor demands for high quality new investment products. Based on your understanding of our potential investors and your communications with them, you would contribute to the firm’s new product development.
We recognize that candidates may bring varying skill sets that will help them succeed in the role, and that the individual may add or enhance skills after joining the firm. Important skills for this role include:
Polished interpersonal skills
An outstanding record of selling alternative investments to the family office and HNW marketplace
Distribution experience through RIAs and IBDs
Strong academic history.
Writing and editorial skills
Highly organized and facile with technology
Investment interest and knowledge. Investment-related designations, particularly CAIA.
Investment sales experience, including appropriate licensing (Series 7, 63).

The Watts Capital Group is led by Tom Watts, who holds the roles of Chairman and Chief Investment Officer. Prior to forming Watts Capital Group, Tom held Managing Director Roles at Merrill Lynch and Cowen. His background includes equity research, investment banking, project finance, and management consulting at firms including Bear Stearns, Booz Allen and McKinsey & Company. Mr. Watts holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Stanford University.
