CU Athletic Department-Marketing and Promotions Associate (Post-Graduate) Internship The University of Colorado Athletic Department is looking for two Marketing Associates for a nine-month, full time position. CU is looking for qualified candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in college athletics. The purpose of these positions are to assist with the marketing and promotions of CU Athletics including, but not limited to: Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Tennis and Women’s Lacrosse. This position is structured to expose the individual to all aspects of marketing, including the promotion, ticket sales, and enhancement of the fan experience for all sports mentioned above. The positions will be responsible for: assisting in the writing and execution of marketing plans; planning and implementing promotional efforts during home CU games; working and communicating directly with coaches, sports information, ticketing, and Buffalo Sports Properties; managing gameday interns to coordinate and implement successful in-game promotions, halftime activities and ticket sales efforts for CU Athletic events; creating and executing marketing plans that target CU Students; aiding the Community Outreach Manager with projects such as Chip’s Kids Club, Ralphie’s Kids Roundup, and the Read With The Buffs program; and assisting staff with special events and other duties as assigned by the Marketing and Promotions staff and Community Outreach manager. This position will serve as the primary contact for marketing and promotions interns. Scheduling, maintaining communication, and assist with the training of marketing interns. Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Prior experience in the area of sports marketing is preferred but not essential. Be engaging and outgoing with both large groups and individuals. Have excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and be organized. Exceptional interpersonal skills, judgment, initiative and attention to detail. Good representatives and ambassadors for CU Athletics. Other Important Information Preferred date of employment will begin August 1, 2018 and end nine months later. Compensation for position is $13 per hour. These positions are not eligible for paid moving expenses, leave, or benefits. Associate position will not last longer than nine months. Associates will work a combined 40 hours a week of regular office hours and gameday hours, and they must be available to work after 5pm and on weekends. Hours are non-traditional which will require some weeknights, weekends and potential holidays. Each Associate will be assigned sports and responsibilities from the above description. They are required to be at every home competition for their assigned sports and will be overseeing interns to help execute game day responsibilities.
